It’s summertime and you know what that means, it’s high-season for traveling (aka our favorite season of the year). We love this time of the year for a variety of reasons: the warm weather, farmers markets and overall fond memories - the list could go on. But here at thunder::tech our absolute favorite part has to be the work we get to do with our roster of amazing tourism clients—the Jet Express, Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce, Cedar Fair and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, to name a few. On top of all of these fantastic clients, we have recently begun a partnership with another tourism client that we couldn’t be more thrilled about, Destination Toledo.
Destination Toledo is the official convention and visitor bureau (CVB) for Lucas County and the greater Toledo region. The organization strives to make the region shine and entice travelers to experience the area’s vast attractions and businesses, as well as to enhance the economic well-being of the community. The CVB brought in thunder::tech to help strengthen their reach and create actionable steps to achieve these goals. The partnership, which started with a new brand strategy, will now continue to evolve to include marketing automation services, social media planning, optimization, and web support, with plans to advance upon the already impressive list of accomplishments the brand has achieved.
There is still a lot of summer left here in the midwest, and our clients know it. With the beauty of a great lake, brands such as the
Jet Express and the
Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce know that appealing to visitors with a range of travel opportunities is key to success. It’s hard to pass the region and not see some thunder::tech work high in the sky pointing visitors to the docks of the Jet Express on their way to exploring the islands. While these billboards are only a piece of the integrated media buy, they surely are the biggest. The team is also hard at work creating content such as itineraries and travel tips for families, event seekers and weekday travelers to show off the islands to a range of fresh audiences for the season.
Meanwhile, our partners at Cedar Fair are planning the opening of the Cedar Point Sports Center in the winter of 2019. This new venue will add to the park’s already impressive portfolio of entertainment as the ultimate tournament and vacation, or “tourna-cation,” venue for sports teams.
thunder::tech’s thirtysix::thirtyfive studios is in the process of producing the launch video for the facility prior to inviting youth and amateur travel sports teams to Sandusky, Ohio.
Down the shoreline and just south of Cleveland you can’t miss the excitement building around the home of football
—the
Pro Football Hall of Fame. As the Enshrinement Ceremony and Hall of Fame Game inch closer (Aug. 1-4), the city of Canton is hard to look past thanks to the work of our creative, media and communications teams. Since before the Class of 2019 was announced in February, these teams have been hard at work designing and executing the campaign behind Enshrinement weekend. We’re excited for our partners to start the celebration before rolling into the NFL’s 100th season this fall.
With just over two months left of summer on the calendar, it’s time to start wrapping up that travel bucket list, and the team here knows just where to start.
